Let's chat
Come talk to me about tourism — in London, Paris, or online
One of the best parts about the work I do is that I get to talk to a lot of people. (Sometimes I think I took up journalism because it gave me a legitimate excuse to talk to strangers.)
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be in London, Paris and (yes) on Zoom for conversations about travel, media, and how we can all make tourism a force for good in the world.
You’ll find details below, but here’s a quick rundown: There’s an online book club meeting (open to all), a conference in Paris, and two events in London on November 4th that I’m especially excited about.
I’d love to see you at any or all of them! If you’re planning to come, please do drop me a line to say hi. Because yes, I do love to chat.

Online book club chat
When: October 28, 10:30am-12pm ET / 4:30pm-6pm CET
Where: Zoom
Who’s hosting: The Rise Travel Institute
Free sign up: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/PapIr6vMQIioN8Ixg4lWmg#/registration
What to expect: This is a talk and Q&A about my book, The New Tourist, hosted by the RISE Travel Institute — and it’s open to anyone who’d like to join. I’ll share some behind-the-scenes pics from my book, recount its origin story, and then we’ll have an open discussion about the book and its themes. I’d love to hear your questions, thoughts, personal experiences, etc. I hope you’ll join us!
Paris travel conference
When: October 30, 12:55pm
Where: Hôtel de l’Industrie, Paris 6ème arrondissement
Get a ticket: https://yp.events/e341f899-ed86-4737-b297-57c7d201d404/A-World-for-Travel
What to expect: I’m moderating a panel on innovation in tourism for the A World for Travel conference, which is happening in Paris this year. Drop me a line if you’ll be in the audience.
Travel & peace discussion in London
When: November 4, 10am-12pm
Where: The Orange Theatre, Excel, London
Details: Get a ticket for the conference here. Session details are here.
What to expect: During this year’s World Travel Market conference in London, I’ll be hosting a discussion about travel and peace that will bring together a Palestinian peace builder and travel entrepreneur alongside an Israeli educator and former tour guide — both of whom have lost close family members to their region’s conflict. It should be a powerful conversation, and I’d love to see you there.
Editors’ roundtable in London
When: November 4, 2pm-4pm
Where: ICC Maritime Suites, Excel, London
Get a ticket: Register for the conference here, then get a ticket for the session here. (Use the discount code WTMCLASS25 to get 25% off the session ticket.)
What to expect: Also at this year’s World Travel Market, I’ll be moderating a panel of six A-list travel editors: from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Times, Bloomberg, the BBC, and Adventure.com. I’m very excited for this one. It’s a ticketed event, and there are only 50 seats available — so it’s going to be “an intimate discussion” that I hope will be open and frank. I’ll be looking for good questions from the audience, too. Drop me a line if you’re planning to be there!
That’s all for now. Thank you so much for joining me here. I hope you have a great week.
Paige x
P.S. Oh yeah, I’ve met this guy.
P.P.S. Bravo, Mr. Carrey. (An old one, but I love it.)
